Bella Freud is a London-based fashion designer.

Bella Freud designs what she likes and this I believe is the secret to her success. Her own laid back British punk mixed with 70’s androgynous cool has created a label of cult sweaters embraced by the style set including Kate Moss and Alexa Chung.

There is something comforting about Bella’s style, it looks lived in, relaxed and makes you nostalgic for the past. What’s more, Bella’s casual style has an unstudied luxury, something very feminine and luxurious hidden in the boyish clothes.

And yes, she is the granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, the inventor of psychoanalysis, and the daughter of the late Lucian Freud, a famed artist. Her first ‘Saturday’ job as a teenager was at Vivienne Westwood….all this varied pedigree has created a style that flatters everyone who wears it. We all need a Bella Freud cult sweater in our wardrobes – it can equally be worn casually on weekends and dressed up for events, may even make you look as cool as Bella (fingers crossed).
